- Our therapists have graduate degrees in psychology and have received extensive training in using the principles of ABA in the treatment of children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
- We provide a treatment team approach that includes the parents, behavior therapist, speech and language pathologist and clinical supervisors.
- Our clinical supervisors and lead therapists are fluent in English. Many of our staff received their graduate education in the United States and Great Britain.
- Treatment is developed and managed by licensed and credentialed clinical supervisors.
Our Clinical Supervisors
Monika Suchowierska-Stephany, Ph.D., BCBA-D
Monika earned her Ph.D. in 2003 from the University of Kansas. She has over 20 years of experience working with children with autism and other developmental disabilities. Monika was the first Board Certified Behavior Analyst in Poland and has authored several books in Polish on autism and ABA. She established the Step-by-Step Center for Early Intervention in 2004. The Center evolved into the Step-by-Step Center of Initiatives for Children with Developmental Disabilities and their Families in 2015. In 2007, Monika was instrumental in establishment of the STEP-BY-STEP Foundation. In addition to her clinical supervision at the Foundation, Monika teaches at SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw, where she directs the program: Applied Behavior Analysis: Helping Children with Autism and Behavioral Disorders. Monika is an approved supervisor with both the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and the Polish Board for the Licensure of Behavioral Therapists.
Paul W. Stephany, MFT, BCBA
Paul is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. He has over 20 years experience working with children with autism, developmental disabilities and severe behavior problems. He is an approved supervisor with both the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and the Polish Board for the Licensure of Behavioral Therapists. Before moving to Poland in 2014, Paul worked as a behavior analyst for the Stanislaus County Office of Education and taught graduate courses at California State University, Stanislaus.

Monika Suchowierska-Stephany presented at the conference “The ABCs of Feeding Difficulties of Children with Developmental Disabilities.” This conference was organized by the District of Ursynów and Special Education Preschool number 213. Monika’s presentation was titled, “The ABCs of feeding training for children with developmental disabilities.”

Monika Suchowierska-Stephany and Paul Stephany presented lectures and a workshop at Lithuania’s first conference on evidence-based treatment for autism “Applied Behavior Analysis: Psychological, Educational and Medical Management. Challenges and Opportunities.” On 31 March, Monika presented the lecture “Applied Behavior Analysis: Effective and empowering methods to help people in need” and Paul presented the lecture “Why functional assessment is important.” On 1 April, Monika and Paul jointly presented a workshop “A step by step approach to functional assessment.”

Monika Suchowierska-Stephany and Paul Stephany presented lectures and workshops at the Ukraine’s first conference on Applied Behavior Analysis, “Changing Society. The First International Scientific Conference On Psychology With Regard To Evidence Based Practice In The Ukraine.” Monika’s lecture and workshop presented information on Applied Behavior Analysis and Paul’s lecture and workshop addressed a functional approach to the treatment of severe behavior problems.
